All About this Chancy Chandler!

Welcome to My Blog!

Hey Family, My name is Kim the "Chancy Chandler" and I'd like you to come with me on my journey to "successful" entrepreneurship with my small candle business. Let's see where this goes.....

So, as I've mentioned, my name is Kim and I am starting a candle business. So you might say "girl...everybody and their mother has a candle business, what makes yours any different?" Well, I'm starting a blog with mine 😁, j/k. I custom blend two types of waxes: coconut and soy wax in about a 75/25 ratio respectively and I make the jar that the candles go in. Yes, I make them. We carry our candles in concrete vessels that I hand design one by one and put my blood, sweat and tears into. Well, not so much the blood and tears part but definitely the sweat. Lol. You'll see what I mean when I introduce you to my "candle corner". All done out of my home here in sunny SoFlo (South Florida).

A Little Bit About Me

So, I'm a mother to 4 beautiful, rambunctious children (13, 5, 3 and 1 at the time of this post). We have 3 boys and 1 girl whom I named my business after. Sidenote: I've seen moms rocking it out here in the blogging world, helping to support their families so the mama in me had to jump on the blogger bandwagon.

Honestly, I created a side business because my husband and I want to buy a house and be first time homeowners and it has been sooooo difficult trying to get one to say the least. It seems like the more money you honestly make, I'm just meaning from having your one regular day/night job, the more the houses start to cost and the less you are able to pay for IT (the house) and yourself and your kids. So we started doing research, making candles, attending pop-up events in our city and that is how it kind of started to take-off. Kinda-sorta but not really take-off. Almost like take-off... like a baby bird that looks like it's gonna fly but then falls out of the nest on the first AND second try, lol. Yea, that's how I'd describe it.

I'd also consider myself like a jack-of-all-trades and a master of none: I do hair, nails, makeup, I used to tutor science, I'm kinda techy....you name it. So getting into candles and the chemistry about it really intrigued me and it was easy for me to get into. Not discrediting the science behind it at all. Some people really do take a bit of time to get the basics down and candle making is not for the faint of heart but with my background I can say it was a smooth transition.

In short: I intend to make this blog all about my candle business and my journey to success, because I am determined to make it, honey! I also hope to find way more advanced candle makers that can kind of give me "constructive criticism" (don't be up in here trolling) so that I can be better and improve my business

. Here you will find short tutorials on how to hopefully make your own candles and I will include all the items that I use to run my business day to day all while sharing candle tips and tricks and new items I create. Sidenote #2: I am in no way professing to be a pro at ANY of this stuff, so it's going to be cool to see us learn together. Things I learn/find out, I will be sure to share with all of you.

So, with this being my first post, I will keep this one short. Maybe you would get motivated and start a business too...."Your Welcome"😁.
